User Experience (UX)

Better Design Starts with a Clear UX-led Process

Our five-stage UX-led process guides how we design and build websites, apps and digital products, with room to adapt as each project progresses.

We apply strategic thinking at every stage of our UX-led delivery process

  1. 01

    Discovery

Every project starts with discovery — understanding the business, users, requirements and what the project needs to achieve.

Depending on the complexity of the project, discovery can range from focused requirements gathering and research through to workshops where we work through functionality, features and priorities, including what needs to happen now, next and later.

    Sketches & Wireframes

Taking what we've learned through discovery, we start mapping out the structure and experience.

We define the site or application architecture, organise content, map key user journeys and work through how features and functionality should behave. Sketches and wireframes allow us to explore and test these decisions before moving into detailed visual design.

    • Information architecture (IA)
    • Functional planning
    • Low-fidelity prototypes

    High-Fidelity Design

High-fidelity designs provide a clear representation of what will be built before development begins.

We apply your brand, typography, colour and visual style to the approved wireframes, creating detailed interface designs and interactive prototypes that show how the finished website or application will look and behave.

    • High-fidelity interface designs
    • Responsive layouts
    • Interactive prototypes
    • UI components & design systems
    • Interaction & motion
    • Review & refinement
  4. 04

    Custom Development

With the design direction and requirements agreed, we begin development — building and refining the website or application as the project progresses.

The build follows the approved UX and interface designs, with responsive behaviour, interactions, accessibility and functionality considered throughout.

    • Custom development
    • Responsive implementation
    • Interactions & functionality
    • Accessibility
    • Performance
    • Design QA
  5. 05

    Testing & Refinement

We test throughout development, then carry out final checks across devices, browsers and real-world use before launch.

We check usability, functionality, accessibility and performance, then refine any areas that need attention before launch.

    • Usability testing
    • Device & browser testing
    • Functionality testing
    • Accessibility checks
    • Performance testing
    • Final refinements

Prototypes at every stage

Prototypes are clickable previews that let you see, test and refine the experience before development begins.

  • Review the structure with wireframes
  • Experience the design with interactive prototypes
  • Give feedback before development
  • Approve a clear representation of what will be built

By the time we move into development, we have an agreed design to build from.
